A Few Things: Zuck, Ad Blockers and a Special Election
Nitasha Tiku at BuzzFeed has a great piece on Mark Zuckerberg’s personal public makeover from startup CEO “sweating through his hoodie onstage” in 2010 to 32-year-old leader of the world with a “2017 personal challenge [to] travel to all 50 states and talk to “folks” about their lives and concerns for the future.” Perhaps we’ll see a Senator Zuck in our future?
The ad blocker arms race continues apace: a Princeton-developed ad blocker uses something called “computer vision” to avoid even the most sophisticated anti-anti-ad software. And now I’ve gone cross-eyed.
Tomorrow’s the big Georgia 6th special election to fill Tom Price’s seat. And Dem candidate Jon Osoff, who is 30 years old and has raised an insane amount of money as part of the anti-Trump wave, is doing decently in the polls. So let’s see how this all goes down, but be sure to not pin our anti-authoritarian hopes and dreams on one well-coiffed millennial...
