Billionaire Fines, Not-Fun Rallies, Scandals in Academia.

Darlings! Hope your week is going splendidly, and you are caffeinated at the level that best befits you.
A minor scandal has erupted in Science PhD land. What started as one woman writing a strongly-toned op-ed ostensibly about not expecting performative social media labor from women in science, but also kinda sorta only came out against one female scientist’s instagram personality, turned into an online backlash against the piece, a rallying of women scientists, and a revival of the hashtag #ScientistsWhoSelfie.
Thing I’ve wondered myself: why should a billionaire and a nurse pay the same fine for speeding?
Today in HAHAHAHAHAHAHA fuck you: 'Alt right' leader Richard Spencer says his rallies aren't 'fun' anymore. Poor snowflake.
And finally, in headlines I sure as hell didn’t want to be reading in 2018: A DC lawmaker has apologized for saying Jewish people control the weather.
