Can I Get A Vox Explainer For My Personal Life, Please? And Other Solstice Wishes.
Bunnies! Happy almost-longest-day-of-the-year, a time marker I only realized is coming up on Friday because of a targeted instagram ad, which I guess means this entire dystopic reality is working? Hey, maybe this timeline isn’t complete garbage after all! HA lol jk lol again.
I couldn’t watch George Stephanopolous’s interview President Trump because I care for my mental health and ability to speak in complete sentences, but I sure am glad that Vox did an explainer for that jaw-dropping train wreck.
Over at TechCrunch, Megan Rose Dickey is doing a deity’s work: The future of diversity and inclusion in tech.
I am obsessed with recommendation websites, so naturally I am obsessed with this Ringer history of recommendation websites, especially since I feel seen by this sentence: “…they might consult multiple online reviews of the various models carried by major on-demand retailers before spending anywhere between $20 and $98 on an ultra-capable, overdesigned model, and then, whenever they saw a different model in the wild, wonder whether they made the right choice.” IT. ME.
This is from 2016, but for *some reason* this piece was recommended to me by The Atlantic, so I dunno, gonna roll with it: The Hot New Millennial Housing Trend Is a Repeat of the Middle Ages.
And finally, Friend of the Missive Colin asks us not to read into this too much, but “The tree that inspired Dr. Seuss's The Lorax has fallen.”
You’re all lovely. Be kind to each other.
Xoxo Amy
