My dearests, have you thought yet about what you’re doing for my birthday next Wednesday, May 30? If you haven’t got me a gift yet, I’ll totally accept your attendance at our Tech in the Age of Trump panel in San Francisco, co-hosted by Vrge Strategies and must-read DC/SF policy newsletter TheBridge. Moderated by Wall Street Journal venture capital reporter Cat Zakrzewski, it will feature a panel of tech policy veterans (and some friends of the Missive!) - Casey Aden-Wansbury, director of federal affairs and engagement at Airbnb; Katherine Boyle, venture capitalist at General Catalyst; Christina Gagnier, partner and lead of internet, intellectual property & technology practice at Gagnier Margossian LLP; and Andrew Noyes, Senior Director of Communication at JUST. I am SO stupidly excited for this conversation, and I hope you’ll join us. Seating is super limited and RSVPs are flying fast, so get yours in today.

TO THE INTERWEBS!

Over at BuzzFeed, SF bureau chief Mat Honan’s take on the opening of the new Salesforce Tower is great, positioning the new tower within the larger SF housing crisis context, and examining what adding 1.4 million square feet of (already rented out) office space means for a city that with decreasing housing supply.

Jared Kushner’s Harvard classmates are gathering this month in Cambridge, MA for what those Crimson call a “reunion” (lol, say the Princetonian subscribers of this newsletter, that’s cute) and some of them will not let his involvement with this administration slide, using their 15th reunion class notes to say “Shame on you.” Note to self: Discussing resistance via class notes in a paragraph in which I mocked another liberal arts school’s yearly reunion is the most obnoxiously Ivy thing I’ve done in a while, and I’m ok with it.

Today, in headlines I never thought I’d see at the Fresno Bee: A yacht, cocaine, prostitutes: Winery partly owned by [Congressman Devin] Nunes sued after fundraiser event.

And finally, because my Mum wants to make sure you are having a great day: from the Associated Press, “Man walking home from train station followed by pig.”

I love you all :)
