Darlings, I hope you had a great weekend, especially if you were working on the nearly-hundred tech company-signed amicus brief in protest of Trump’s immigration executive order. Kudos to the staff who managed to wrangle that many companies in stating that not only is the EO bad for business, but that it is unlawful. Also, if you want to lose your mind this morning, read the comments on that TC piece. Hoo boy.
A few things:
Lady Gaga KILLED IT at the mid-point of the sportsball show. She jumped into the stadium surrounded by 300 dancing drones, and then proceeded to belt our her "non-political” hits. Her “avoiding politics” was celebrated by some, despite the fact it led with Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land,” and featured her song "Born This Way.” For those who are not Little Monsters like me, that tune includes the lyrics, "No matter gay, straight, or bi / Lesbian, transgendered life / I'm on the right track baby / I was born to survive / No matter black, white or beige / Chola or orient made…”
As you all know, I’ve been brushing up on my Hannah Arendt ever since the elections, much to the detriment of my personal sanity.
