Reading List: TFW Your Article-filled Kindle Glares At You For Not Reading Enough
It’s Friday, my doves. I hope you’re prepared for a restful weekend, and have at least one happy thing to look forward to - I have a few, like my weekend morning walk in the Castro with my dog, and the chance to see friends IRL to do silly storytelling shit.

TO THE LONGREADS AND ONE VIDEO
Mstyslav Chernov, 20 Days in Mariupol: The team that documented city’s agony (Associated Press) - (Content warning: images of death and violence and war) Not much to say about this other than I suggest you read this harrowing and terrifying story.
Chain Reaction (The Wall Street Journal) - Not that I need anything else to fret about, but I’m looking forward to watching this documentary this weekend about the fragility of our ever-growing capitalist hunger for goods now and the systems that support it.
Elie Mystal, Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Long Pause Explained Racism and Sexism in America (The Nation) AND Barbara Sprunt and Huo Jingnan, Hawley's attacks on Ketanji Brown Jackson fuel a surge in online conspiracy chatter (NPR) AND Mark Joseph Stern, The Ketanji Brown Jackson Hearings Show Marriage Equality Is the Next Target Once Roe Falls (Slate) AND Molly Jong-Fast, The Frightening New Wave of Anti-abortion Bills (The Atlantic) - Please excuse the existential numbness that is preventing me from thinking critically about the KBJ hearings in the Senate right now, it’s been a very long week and watching Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham idiotically pander to their frothing base isn’t helping my stress headaches. Especially since Initial public support for judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation to the Supreme Court ties as the highest Gallup has measured for any recent nominee (Gallup). Also, the fact that Cruz and KBJ were law school classmates and worked on the same law review makes his sneering display all the more gross.

Natasha Mascarenhas, topics i'd like to write about when i have the energy (too wordy, by natasha) - It’s like she opened up my brain and spilled my anxieties on the screen. And at some point, I’m going to need to write out my list and share it with you all.
Johann Hari, Stolen Focus: Why You Can't Pay Attention - Started reading this book and think it’s related to the above, and is part of why I try not to be too hard on myself for not thinking longterm, creatively.
(just click through on that one, thank me later)
You’re all lovely. Drink your water, get outside for a bit, and be kind to yourself, won’t you?
xoxo Amy
