Catherine Rampell has a few suggestions about how we can possibly make our democracy resemble something functional. We should, per usual, heed her words, especially “you shouldn’t be able to count the ballots for a race in which you’re running.” I learned that in my (successful, brushes shoulder off) campaign for student body president in Grade 11, a win which can only partly be attributed to my rampant voter manipulation efforts.
Speaking of candidates overseeing their own election counts, I enjoy a great deal of schadenfreude for the democratic ousting of a man “known nationally for a combination of xenophobia and voter suppression”: “The stupendous shellacking of Kris Kobach”
Science (SCIENCE!) did super well on the ballot this year.
And finally, let’s all thank Friend of the Missive Seth for this “little bit of progress to make you feel good about life.”
Oh also I forgot to mention that POTUS fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions and appointed a sycophantic political hack as Acting AG, who then promptly removed Rod Rosenstein as the oversight for the Mueller investigation ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Be kind to each other,
Amy
