🎶We Found Love In An Awkward Place 🎶
Dearests! I’m freaking out because it is nearly May, which means my birthday month commences in a matter of days. And I’m coming up on the big 3-5, so I’m taking suggestions for awesome and amazing things to do throughout the month, from tiny moments of joy to exciting ways to get out of my comfort zone. Suggestions appreciated! And are you going to be in the Bay Area in May? Say hi!
But to the internet we adventure!
Where my Princeton tigers at? Did you remember to pay your class dues? Are you going to reunions this year? Have YOU become engaged to your 46-years-older former professor? Look: I’m certainly not one to judge other people’s relationship choices, but I have so many questions / also feel better about the minor (and un-acted on, I must point out) crush I had on my philosophy TA my junior year. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m reading up on how to slide into DMs and finding love on planes.
As we reflect on another uber-awkward Trump / tech meeting in the Oval Office that involved the POTUS complaining about follower count, a reminder that Free Speech Is Not The Same As Free Reach.
It’s remarkable how nonchalant this piece on vulnerable home video systems is about a hacked Nest Cam broadcasting pornography in a child’s room. Or maybe that’s just the hardened callous over my heart protecting me from a tech dystopia-induced panic attack.
Feel shame, online shopping addicts: Amazon got you hooked on 2-day shipping and now they’re gonna need to jack up the price of your supply, because (gasp!) it’s not economically feasible to promise such quick delivery all the damned time. And shoppers are not pleased.
And finally, let’s all boo the tax software lobby, mmmkay?
You’re all great. Be kind to each other.
